Since I started this blog, I've had the occasion to show
some of the canyons that I have explored in southern Arizona. But it has taken us two years to get to
The Canyon in Arizona, a wonder of the world, the Grand Canyon. What an amazing place, and we barely scratched the surface. We hiked to Skeleton Point (and speculated that the name comes from the hikers who got there and couldn't make it back), then took a mule trip six miles into the canyon, to Plateau Point, where I took the picture in this post. That's the Colorado River in the distance, still quite a distance away.
